Latest News: AFS wins ‘Dragon’s Den’ of the green transport world
Wednesday, 22 August 2012 08:48
As
you may have heard, the team at AFS recently attended the Cleantech Investor Future Transport Challenge event. Companies in the most innovative parts of the transport industry made 'Dragon's Den' style pitches to a panel of investors at the conference, which was chaired by journalist and television presenter Quentin Willson.
Our CEO Peter, and Investor Relations Director Graham, presented the vision and practicalities of AFS to the distinguished panel of investors, which included among others; Dr Dominic Emery - Chief Development Officer for BP Alternative Energy, and Andreas Schamel, Ford’s Chief Engineer Powertrain Research & Advanced Engineering Europe.

Panel members enquired about the building of commercial plants and how the price of fossil oil affects the AFS carbon neutral synthetic alternative. They learned that thanks to its successful demonstrator programme, AFS is now ready to build a commercial plant. Furthermore, there is a ready initial market for the product of such a plant in top-end motorsport fuels.
AFS was presented the challenge winner award at the evening reception by Patrick Head, co-founder of Williams Formula 1, who noted that there had been a high

standard of participants, but that AFS was the ‘clear winner’.
Our CEO, Peter, said after the event:
“I very much enjoyed the opportunity to present Air Fuel Synthesis in front of such high profile industry professionals and we are delighted that the ‘dragons’ recognised the highly investable nature of what Air Fuel Synthesis is doing. We are ready as a company to enter into commercial production. We are looking forward to following up the conversations initiated during the conference yesterday and to securing the funding to build our first commercial plant.”
This has been an encouraging month for the AFS team. Earlier we announced that production of petrol at our demonstrator facility has now commenced. This news has been received with great interest by industry experts. By also winning the Cleantech challenge, AFS is showing not only how serious a contender it is in the field of alternative fuels , but also that the case for investment is worth very serious consideration.
